I would like some advice on the photo.

〇The intention of the photo was to capture an image of a hydrangea fairy bathed in sunlight and integrated with nature.

〇The lighting was adjusted so that the model's face was about 0.7 stops brighter than the flowers. The reason is that I wanted the model to be the main focus.

〇I would like some advice on the composition.

・I wanted to add depth blur, so I included the upper right corner.

・I made sure the model's face was in the center. Since she was looking up, I cleared up the space to the upper right a little.

Camera settings ISO250 f2.8 1/1600 focal length 180mm

Thank you for your consideration.

Hi and Welcome - Your image, This is just my take on our fine image just to give you a few ideas to think about. I first cropped a little off the left side and top to make your image more compact. - I then rolled the saturation back a little on the green leaves and increased the saturation on the blue flowers. Nik Tools Tonal Contrast to add impact Last Topaz AI sharpen. Thank you for sharing... Almost forgot cloned out two small distractions

Hello Yu

Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo with us. I like the model's expression and the surrounding nature. Daniel has already offered an excellent edit which I can't improve upon. I just want to say that when I am curating I see so many similar photos so if yours has been rejected that could be the reason. You have some fine images in your gallery already and I recommend submitting images with originality and creativity.

Good light, Elizabeth

Thank you for your comment. Just by trimming the photo, the impression changes considerably. This is also the fun of photography. It's helpful. Also, thank you for your advice about the color. I think it's important to face my own individuality while also finding a way to be accepted by the people who see my work. Thank you. I look forward to working with you in the future.

Thank you for your comment. I really understand. Hydrangeas are popular in Japan now, and photos are buried on SNS. I am participating because I am attracted to the individuality, originality, and creativity of 1X. I realized this again when I received your message. I learn photography techniques every day at workshops, practice at home (lighting), and practice outdoors and in the studio by shooting models' requests, and enjoy it. I appreciate your words "It's good light." I'm happy. I also appreciate that there is no more advice. This is the ability I have now. I am full of the desire to continue learning and practicing photography techniques. Thank you. I have taken several photos in a new series. I would like to challenge myself with 1X after developing. I look forward to your continued support.

Hello, Yu Kajima

Welcome to our forum. The image you share has good color and carries the warmth of the season with it. I can see that you not only want to share the beauty of the flowers but also the aura the model has. What I want to input here is my personal opinion. I prefer the model to be the star of the image. The flowers would be there to support the pose and the setting. Because of that I would come closer to the model. My version is close to that of my friend Daniel but a bit closer. I wlsh you good light. Cicek....

Thank you for your message. A "portrait" is one in which the "person" is the main focus, right? If you interpret it that way, then the "model is the protagonist." Thank you. I'm greedy and I shoot mainly models, but I seem to have a habit of imagining the "model blending in" with nature. As a result, I often end up with a composition where it's unclear whether the "model or the flower is the main focus." I'd like to go back and dig deeper into what I want to express. Thank you.

Hello Yu,

I like hydrangeas and I like how you have staged the model in the enchanting flowers. I also sat down to interpret it and asked myself what I would change. Enclosed I show you what I created with Nik Detail, a vignette and a different crop.  I tried to focus on the flowers and the model, I darkened everything else.

As I said, it's my personal interpretation.

Greetings, Ute

Thank you for your comment. You decided on the composition based on the model, and then edited it so that the model stood out. I have a lot of images in my mind, but maybe I'm not good at choosing from them. This was helpful. Thank you.
